Filofest '07, which'll again take place in December (the exact date has not
been determined yet). The website is undergoing a structural and cosmetic makeover
and new Filofest Team members are joining us every day. So, stay alert and watch

We started working on Filofest 2007. This year it's going to be bigger and even
better and that is why our team needs to expand. We need to fill the following

THE NUMBERS ARE OUT, published: 23.12.2006
We finally got the official number of visitors of this year's Filofest. We are
proud to announce that during the three days of the festival, 3244 people have
attended the screenings. The festival is pleased with the result and hopes to
have even more viewers next year.
THE FESTIVAL BROUGHT TO A SUCCESSFUL END, THE WINNERS ANNOUNCED!, published:

The awards of the first Filofest were handed out. The award for best film chosen
by the audience was given to the Slovene film 'Perfect', directed by Alen Pavšar
and Robert Mastnak. Members of the jury awarded the film 'Tatita', made by Tatita
team from Kosovo, for best directing. The Spanish film 'Amor Sanjuan', directed
by Luis Misis Herrero, received the award for best screenplay and the Slovene
film 'Perfect' received the best performance award. Members of the jury gave
special recognition to: '?Orque', 'Hallucii', 'What Do We Need This For' and
'Behind Closed Minds'. The winning video of the video workshop was shot and
edited by Agata Rosochacka, the director of the film 'Reflections'. This marks
the end of Filofest 2006. We sincerely thank everyone who participated and congratulate
to all the winners. We look forward to seeing you again next year!
21.00 WRAP PARTY AT THE ORTO BAR, published: 14.12.2006
The Filofest Wrap Party will take place at the famous ORTO BAR on in Ljubljana
(Grablovičeva 1), starting at 9pm. A group of musicians who gathered with a
special purpose - for the exclusive occasion of Filofest - will play a live
gig for us. After the concert you'll be able enjoy 80's music till dawn. Again,
there is no admission. Make sure you don't miss it!
19.00 AWARD CEREMONY, published: 14.12.2006
At the award ceremony the best films will receive the prizes. This year the
Filofest jury will award the best directing, the best screenplay and the best
performance. The award for best film will be presented to the producer of the
audience’s favourite. After the ceremony you will be able to see the winning
film and then join us for a glass of wine before going to the Wrap Party.
VIDEO WORKSHOP PARTICIPANTS CONFIRMED, published: 10.12.2006
The accompanying part of the programme at Filofest will give three young directors
the opportunity to participate in the Video Workshop. All three directors will
have to shoot a short video on the same topic, and will then have additional
5 hours to edit it. All three artists will have the same technical conditions
and will be able to consult a mentor (Bojan Kastelic for camera and Zlatan Čučkov
for editing). On Thursday at 3.30 pm we will screen all three videos and award
the best one with a practical prize worth a bit over 200 Euros. The three young
directors, who have been chosen to participate in the workshop are Alen Pavšar
(Slovenia), Fabian Chiquet (Switzerland), and Agata Rosochacka (Poland).

GRAND OPENING OF FILOFEST, published: 09.12.2006
Filofest will be opening on Tuesday, 12th December, with the films of this year's
jury members (starting at 10 am). Please also join us at the opening ceremony
which will take place in the faculty's lobby at 3 pm. You will be greeted by
the Dean of the Faculty of Arts, Professor Božidar Jezernik, and the Vice Dean
Student and Filofest Director Mart D. Buh. After the ceremony you will have
the chance to see some of the films or attend a guided tour of Radio Television
Slovenia (the group leaves from the Faculty of Arts at 3.30 pm sharp). After
the screenings join us at the COCOA CAFE (Kolodvorska 7, Ljubljana), where the
opening party starts at 9 pm. You will be entertained by popular film music
and special coctails.
PRESS CONFERENCE, published: 30.11.2006
There's a press conference on Tuesday, 05.12.2006, at 10 o'clock at the Faculty
of arts (room 526, 5th floor). Speakers: Professor Božidar Jezernik (the Dean
of the Faculty of arts), Mart D. Buh (the Vice Dean Student of the Faculty of
Arts and Filofest director), Mili Gabrovšek (Filofest PR), and Karmelina Husejnović
(Filofest Promotions).

We finally managed to get our programme on-line. Now you can check out the screening
schedules, film descriptions, times and places for the parties and workshops.

FILM INFO, published: 22.11.2006
We just announced the info on all accepted films. The times of the screenings
will be posted shortly. All the accompanying programme will be announced by
the end of the week. Please be patient. :) We also apologize for all mistakes
in the programme. We will correct them as soon as we spot them.
PROGRAMME ANNOUNCEMENT, published: 21.11.2006
The Filofest programme will be announced by the end of this week.
SELECTION ANNOUNCEMENT, published: 19.11.2006
We received over 150 films from all over the world. We accepted 23 films to
the competition part of the programme (12 Slovenian) and another 31 made it
to the non-competition part of the programme. You will also be able to see a
special part of our programme featuring films of students of ethnology and cultural
anthropology, and a screening of films of the jury members. Altogether, Filofest
will be showing more than 60 excellent films in three days. All participants
will be notified via email by Monday, 20th November 2006. If you do not receive
an email by that date, please contact our International Participants Coordinator

We received some phone calls from distressed students who could not fill in
the application form. Do not panic - the festival will also screen no-budget
productions with no make-up artists, costume designers, co-producers, etc. Just
fill in the stuff you can.
We would also like to explain that the festival will accept films of all lengths.

ATTENTION FILMMAKERS!, published: 12.09.2006
The Faculty of Arts at the University of Ljubljana is hosting the first INTERNATIONAL
STUDENT FILM AND VIDEO FESTIVAL FILOFEST. The festival will take place between
12th and 14th December 2006 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. All students who are involved
in film and video production are invited to examine the rules of the festival
and to print out the festival entry form. The competition part of the programme
will feature independent student films, while the non-competition part of the
programme will screen productions of students of film schools and academies.
The best film will be awarded a sum of 100,000 SIT (€ 417.29). The submission
deadline is 1st November 2006.
