SYNOPSIS Bosnia, eight years after the war with life seemingly back to normal. Not far from Sarajevo an illegal betting shop has been organised – betting on the life or death of men riding a motorbike through a minefield. In a country where the majority of people live in poverty it is easy to find a death rider. Sakal, organiser of the brutal spectacle, makes money from the misfortune of these desperate men. Muris, one of the motorcyclists, comes out of his deadly ride alive. His hungry family celebrates his first paycheck, not knowing the truth of how he earned it.
DIRECTOR PROFILE
	ALEN DRLJEVIĆ enrolled into the Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo in 1997 (Department for Directing). He has just completed his studies with his graduation film Paycheck, which won the Heart of Sarajevo Award at Sarajevo Film Festival 2005 and was nominated for the European Film Awards in the short film category.
